Harmony: It felt like a movie set and unreal. I would like to see the West Wing if I ever get the chance!
Brandi Rae: My favorite part of touring the White House was hearing the stories about the furniture and decorations in each room. Being so close to such prominent pieces of our American history made me feel very lucky to have the chance to be there.
Jessica: My favorite part of the White House was seeing the painting that Dolley Madison was able to rescue from the burning of the original White House. Having read about that since being in elementary school, it was really a great experience to see it. The feelings I had that day rivaled those I had the day I saw the Mona Lisa, which was a truly great experience (save for the fact that Mona is much smaller than I had thought she would be).
Eduardo: The White House tour left me with a feeling of insight and fascination about the history that has occurred throughout the years. I had never felt as close to the country as I did then.
Shane: The White House has always been a mystery. I have always wanted to go inside, even if it was just for a tour and not a State dinner. It is just amazing to see something that is in a large amount of movies, it is in books and magazines, but it is so much more than that. It is the pinnacle of American history as much as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
Courtney: The White House was lovely, it overflowed with history and I only wished I were able to get a closer look at all of the paintings.
Grace: I like that we were able to take our time walking through the White House. It didn’t exactly get a “homey” feeling when I was there because barriers were set up in all of the rooms. However, it was nice to try to imagine being a guest in such an important place.
Kendra: The White House was an absolute pleasure, very personal and intimate. I love that there was so much history crammed into every inch of it. Beautiful.
Greg: The White House tour was excellent, all of the secret service agents were incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the rooms and various memorabilia, and every object had a fascinating story attached to it.
